Ilze KOROĻEVA, Dr.sc.soc., is a leading researcher and deputy director at the Institute of Philosophy and sociology, LU. She has led and contributed to more than 50 local and cross-national comparative surveys. Her scientific work is largely focused on migration identities, social inequality and social exclusion research, as well as well-being and health issues. Most recent research includes an exploration of a sense of belonging and identity formation in emigrant communities. She has more than 70 scientific publications, the most notable of which are two monographs and articles, which have been published in The Sociological Review, European Psychiatry, Religious-philosophical articles.

Leading researcher in projects: “Narrative perspectives on intergenerational transmissionof memory”, financed by Latvian Council of Science, (2018-2021), “From past to present:migration and integration through the life story network” NORDPLUS (2017 – 2020), National Research Programme „Letonics – History of Latvia, languages, culture, values”, “Aspects of values in Letonika” in the frame of National Research Programme, (2014–2017). Participation in establishing a Nordic-Baltic scientific collaboration between the National Oral History archive and the Estonian Literary Museum in Estonia, the Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences in Norway, the Stockholm University in Sweden, Finnish Literature Society in Finland.

GINTA ELKSNE, Mg.sc.soc., Mg.sc.hum. Research Assistant at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, University of Latvia. Has been involved in the Latvian National Oral History Project since 1994. Currently a Doctoral student at the Riga Stradiņš University (Sociology). Main scientific research interests are related to the analysis of Oral History and Biographical sources, especially in relation to migration and remigration issues.
