Abstract

As medical science evolves, medical experiments increase and become more complex. Medical experiments concern to more innovative medical and surgical procedures that are primarily used as a way to contribute to the general good in the interests of humanity. Historically, their role has been important in medical research and patient care. The article researches the historical development of medical experiments, analyses the concept of medical experiment and its types. Regulation in Latvian do not fully describe medical experiments and their types. Considering impact of such experiments, it is necessary to clearly define the concept and types of medical experiment
