She has been working at University of Latvia in the study programme “Arts”. The research topic includes the reflection of the images and plots of Latvian mythology in fine arts at the end of 19th century and the first half of the 20th century in Latvia, paying attention to the conditions of visual image’s origination and possible influences.

Mg.sc.pol., Riga Stradiņš University, a candidate for Ph.D. in sociology The author’s publications are arts’ sociology about the position of the artists in social space and interpretation of visual arts in the community, forming a national identity. The topic of doctoral thesis – “Participation of painters in the formation of the national identity and interpretation of the content in the framework of the arts’ field”. The research interests is concerned with the issues of power implementing by the assistance of culture institutions; with formation, strengthening and transformation of nation’s concept, about the influence of national identity on culture policy.
